These tying threads are waxed to help in wrapping easier as well as staying in place. Size wise the 3/0 is larger than your 6/0. On jig heads if you can get use to using 6/0, it gives a stronger wrap. The hard thing to get use to is how tight to wrap with out breaking thread.
